Most people who have large pores will tell you that they often feel self-conscious about them. Many of them try to cover them with makeup, but many others simply avoid the topic and don’t realize that large pores can also cause acne.
For some reason, acne and large pores are closely linked, but you don’t have to be a person with gigantic, clogged pores to get acne. You may be surprised to learn that you can have large pores, but not necessarily get acne. This doesn’t mean that your pores are fine, but it does mean that if you have acne, there’s a good chance that you will have large pores as well.
To understand why large pores lead to acne, it’s first important to realize what makes a person with large pores prone to acne. The largest part of the human body is covered in skin, but some of that skin contains pores that are much too large for the skin to fill. That extra skin causes extra bacteria to form which spreads throughout the skin, leading to pimples and zits.
The common source of acne for most people is hormonal change. When your hormones change, such as when you are getting pregnant or have a pregnancy, your pores become more sensitive. In addition, there is usually a big fluctuation in weight. People with high levels of fat around their midsection are usually at a higher risk of having acne.
It has been established that your skin produces more oil when you are stressed out. This extra oil will clog up your pores and lead to pimples. If you notice that you are always very stressed out, this may also be a factor in the amount of time that you are stressed out.
If you have large pores, and you aren’t regularly cleaning them, you may end up with acne later on in life. They don’t all need to be cleaned, but you should always make sure that you wash your face when you get up in the morning, before you go to bed at night, and before you shave.
Acne is caused by oil and bacteria, and it can be eliminated by washing the face regularly. It helps to use a special type of face wash that can be used twice a day, but it’s possible to do it yourself if you have the time.
To make sure that you are washing your face thoroughly and that your skin is clean, you should use a non-comedogenic cleanser that won’t clog your pores. Many people use regular soap or facial cleansers, but using an exfoliant or astringent can help to remove dead skin cells and make your skin soft and smooth.
You should be particularly careful about using any type of acne medication on your face because many of them can be drying. You should avoid topical treatments like benzoyl peroxide, which is usually used for acne since it can be drying.
Always use something that is gentle and not harsh on your skin before you start any acne medication. You might find that you experience more side effects if you are using topical medications, so be sure to keep that in mind when you start to use any acne treatment.
There is no doubt that large pores can lead to acne. Remember that your skin needs to be cleaned and that acne can be prevented with regular skincare.
